being farsighted

farsightedness -
"greater difficulty seeing near objects than distant objects"

i'll admit it - i can be accused of having my head in the clouds a bit more than i should. now, we've already covered in the previous entry that i don't mean in the heavenly clouds { i'm working on this! }.

but yes, i enjoy planning and scheming fun future trips and events. i need to buy my 2012 calendar very soon. i get a kick out of figuring out what things will be happening in the coming months and how i can plan my schedule accordingly.

so this is all well and good but even in this, i need a better sense of perspective.
ever heard of the phrase "live for today"?

when our face is constantly looking ahead for whatever will come next instead of looking down and realizing all that we have right now, we tend to forget how blessed we currently are.

this time of year is too short but it's a wake up call for an attitude of thanksgiving. i think of all of the people i have around me that impact my life, all of the blessings that God has bestowed upon unworthy me and the list goes on and on. savor all that you have right now.

"i can't live my whole life wasting
all the grace that i know You've given
cause you made me for so much more than
sitting on the sidelines....

so why am i waiting for tomorrow?"

where are your eyes focused?
