so here's the deal: i HATE politics. loathe politics.
maybe there aren't many things that i am concerned about in the world around me.
maybe because i have issues with both major parties so i'd rather consider myself a moderate.
maybe i buy into all the clichés and think that politicians are manipulators and liars (most were, after all, lawyers).
maybe i'm *gasp* immature!!
that's ok. i'll accept all of that. there is, however, an exception to this rule.... i think this election is the best ever! [ignore the fact that this is the 1st i've ever paid much attention to] honestly, i have been following it closely since the iowa caucus last year mainly for the entertainment factor. does this make me a bad american? maybe so.... lemme go buy a flag lapel pin.
so why entertaining? i find it interesting how strategic everything is. so much is planned but made to look spontaneous. an amusing case in point, this pic from teleprompter at the republican convention. yes, they tell them when to hug.
every word is measured, even words spoken over 20 years ago. if they aren't careful, just wait, someone out there is just waiting to pounce on it and tell the world.
oh, and even your friends are important too! if your advisors's uncle's brother's cousin is a big shot executive for exxon or some other evil oil company, watch out! you'll get grilled for that!
and what's an election without all of the mudslinging? i'll tell you: bo-ring! it's sad but hilarious to see grown men (and women) tossing out verbal barbs, exaggerating, and pretty much acting like first graders.
all that said, i definitely would not wanna be the prez. i've had my aspirations though. when i was like, 7.
now, first lady - that might be kinda fun!!
speaking of which, during the conventions & primaries, i indulged in my shallowness and googled what outfits they wore during them. not bad, eh?
can't wait for the VP debate on thursday! should be lotsa fun!

Hey, thanks for your comment on my story! I wasn't sure if you got the reply back! I am not sure how that works...
I can't stand politics very much, but I will admit that this year's race has been quiiiiite interesting!
