What is "fairness"?
It's rather sad how the juvenile phrase "it's not fair" has bugged me recently. I used to proclaim it often in elementary school. Why should I allow myself to internally or verbally proclaim unfairness?
It's so silly.
It's a concept that we conjure up in our little minds of how things should be run or of what should be the "ideal" outcome in a situation.
It's the little lawyer inside of us (who is, by the way, nearsighted; only able to see what is within close range and incapable of seeing what is to come ahead) that screams, "OBJECTION, YOUR HONOR!"
Except Your Honor could not care less what defiant phrase comes out of our mouths because God is the almighty judge.
He runs this court.

He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. Deuteronomy 32:4
Because of the above, no matter how hard I fight, no matter how eloquent my closing argument -
God was, is and always will be
PERFECT,
TRUE,
JUST and
RIGHT.
and yet....
here i sit in the corner,
dejectedly muttering to myself,
"it's not fair"

My Mom's standard answer to "it's not fair" was "Life isn't fair..."
I didn't understand how true those words were until I was much older. But God is still true and just.
I tell myself the same thing that your mom used to say!
soo soo true.
