what are you holding onto?

i got my monitor replaced at work.

i've been working there since April and noticed that my screen resolution was kinda wonky but  i didn't ever notify IT. i attempted to change the resolution myself but i got one of the pop-ups saying that only the administrator could change this. still, i never asked IT (who literally sits across the aisle) to change it. i didn't want to be one of *those* demanding, diva-like new employees.

last week, while passing a spare monitor in the office, i had the fleeting thought of swapping it out myself with my current one. but then it was like, nooooo. just tell IT about your screen!!

so IT guys came to the rescue. apparently there was another way to change the resolution so i could have done it! but even utilizing that method, my screen was still stubborn. time for a new screen! after installing it they exclaimed, "Jen! You've had this issue since you came here?! Why didn't you say something?!"

i honestly don't know. i just got used to a wonky display. Sure, it annoyed me but i didn't do anything about it.

that Sunday, i heard preaching how we have illnesses and situations in our lives that we've accepted as "that's just how it is and will always be". we may not say that but we live our lives helplessly as though we do not serve an amazing God who is capable of healing and changing lives forever.

do situations beyond your control have you down? give them to God. do you have occasional or chronic physical pain? let it go. don't label it as YOUR bad (knee, back, etc). give it to God to correct. He's well more than able.
