ebay advice needed! por favor??

heeeey! help a friend in need! i've used ebay for a while but i've never used the "voice alerts" (where they call you 3 min before auction is over) or the "sms alerts" (they text ya near the end and if you've been outbid).

see, the deal is i'm soooooooo not cool b/c i don't have any internet @ mi casa. used to have dial-up but ended that b/c i never used it since i cart my laptop around and i'd kinda like to pay off my credit card *crossing fingers* before i add a wireless internet bill.

i don't use internet on my cell b/c i want to hold off on tacking on that extra fee until i pay off my credit card (hmm! alotta stuff is on hold b/c of my plastic, eh???). using the cell internet w/o a plan....omg....they billed me soooo much for just a few min. so i'm not gonna do that again. plus, that internet's kind of slow. not good.

so i've said ALL this to say: an item is ending at no joke, 11:58pm CST next week (WHY?? why couldn't it have ended while i'm at work??) and i wanna WIN, doggone it.

have you used either of the above? is it really done in "real-time"? help me, i plea!
