so in review.....

it's a roller coaster ride of life
lifts you up and lets you down
it's a roller coaster ride life
spins you round and round and round

2011 - you finally made it here!

here's a tidbit of totally trivial information that is shameful but important to note - i honestly think that superstitions are dumb but i will admit to only one: i greatly dislike even numbered years. i can track this for about the past 10-ish years which may not sound like a very long time but hey, i haven't been alive for very long either ;). and what a shame too, because i like counting nice, even, round numbers since math isn't my forté. 2,010 is a wonderfully round number!

i will concede that my theory has holes. for example, i was laid off from a job in 2007 but i bounced back from this relatively quickly. anyway, suffice it to say that the historical trend has been for me to get slammed in a strongly impressionable way every other year.

basically, i.... strongly disliked 2010 in some ways. :)   it was tough. and in all of this, i know and knew that logically i shouldn't be so bothered since in the long run it was all working for my good. sadly, logic doesn't always cause me to override emotion. i also wasn't the saint that i should have been. sometimes i had a bad attitude over silly things. sometimes people said things that angered me when i should have been quicker to pray about their words. sometimes i didn't adequately show enough love to others.

but then i look back and remember the incredible ride that this year has been....

but wait, don't leave!
i'm not done talking yet!

i traveled like MAD last year! it was amazing!  i'm so thankful that God allowed me the opportunities to get away that often! i also recall us setting off on our first voyage last year - the road trip! all three of us received bonuses from our jobs right before the trip... and none of us are at jobs that typically give out bonus checks.

also, thankful to be able to be with my out of state family more than usual this past year. thankful for old friends and new friends. thankful for the words of wisdom imparted to me.

my first entry last year was called "catalyst", referring to the word that i felt was dropped into my spirit one morning.

"an agent that provokes or speeds significant change or action" .... i am definitely a changed gal, compared to a year ago. still farrrrrr from where i ought to be but a bit closer to where i need to be.

all glory to God! looking forward to how WONDERFUL 2011 will be!

Glad I was one of those friends you saw this year! We have had trouble on the even years, too, although 2010 wasn't too bad.
