Some time in January, I found a box of pictures that I had been looking for for like, FOREVER it seems. Felt like I hit the jackpot! I had fun sorting through so many old pics and was thrilled because I found pics from the night of my baptism AKA the night that changed my life forever!
This was way back in the "dark ages" of 1997. :) Friday, February 21st, to be exact! My mom's old friend was coming to Dallas for a convention and wanted to spend some time with us while she was in the states. When she came, my mom told her all of the crazy that was going on in our lives. All I remember is her taking charge and telling us that we need to go to an Apostolic church.
She took us to a christian bookstore for the first time to get KJV bibles (HAHA, I remember listening to samples from Anointed's cd there that day!) and she was calling around trying to find someone who could tell her of a good church in the area. A pastor in St. Croix knew of another pastor who knew Elder James Pixler. He led us to my church! :)
So that Friday was my first time in an Apostolic church. I remember thinking how small this church was (formerly a good Catholic who was used to grand buildings with statues and candles and stained glass.... not storefront churches) and why were these two little girls in front of me staring at me??
I don't remember anything about the actual service but I recall us going to the altar and and then going to the back for baptism.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. [Acts 2:38]

Ah, love this! I wish I had a picture from when I was baptized. Talk about the dark ages - 1971!!
Awwwwwww!!! Yes! I loved this! I was baptized two years before you (1995...I was in fifth grade). I'm so glad that I still have my pictures, my baptismal certificate, and of course the memory(ies).
